The majority of the domains offered here were released for registration as part of the initial issue by the registry for eu domains EURID in 2005. The demand for these domains was correspondingly high. Sometimes several dozens of applications were received for one and the same domain.
To enable trademark owners to register their domain, the so-called sunrise phase was introduced, which allowed registration in advance. Many of the domains offered by us were already allocated during this phase and were therefore not available to a large number of interested parties at that time. All of these domains were already allocated to applicants immediately after the issuance of the registry. Since only each domain was available once, consequently many interested parties could not register their desired domain. Domains of other TLDs, such as golf.com.mt or golfreisen.asia could only be registered due to existing trademark rights.
Due to our activity as official registrar of EURID and our activity in domain marketing we were able to secure many of these domains. The majority were not actively used or offered for sale in the past, as initially our own project planning was intended. Since this has not been realized so far due to capacity reasons, the domains are currently offered for purchase.
